Events Calendar 2011
In 2011, we will be celebrating the arrival of Spring and Arbor Day in a new and exciting way, as the Tree Board and the Environmental Board have brought together Arbor Day and Carbondale’s traditional Dandelion Day, to be held on Saturday, May 7th.
The Tree Board members and Town staff welcome all interested residents and visitors to participate in several programs devoted to learning how to take care of our local trees properly and how to keep them healthy.

| 8:30-10:30 | Tree Planting - Location to be announced |
| 11:00 | Dandelion Day Parade |
| 12:15 | Vince Urbina, Forester with the Colorado State Forestry Service, will give a talk about fruit trees, including their care and special requirements for fruit production. |
| 1:00 | Vince Urbinawill conduct a fruit tree pruning workshop and demonstration at the historic apricot trees just north of Steve's Guitars on 4th Street. |
There will be many other activities throughout the day in Sopris Park, including vendors and entertainment; watch for our posters and check the Sopris Sun for the complete calendar of events.
Throughout the day, the Tree Board will be having raffles for three hand-selected apple trees that you can plant at your home and will also be giving away apples at our tent in Sopris Park in honor of this year’s theme of fruit trees in the valley.
